A Striking Story

By Kevin Cox, Kyle Hazelwood, and Joseph King.

On this week’s episode of Sportscast, your number one up-and-coming Sports podcast featuring interviews with aspiring young athletes, Kevin and JoJo interview guest bowler Kyle Hazelwood as he sets us up and knocks us down with some pinpoint bowling knowledge. Our hosts learn a great deal about bowling, including the different styles of alleys and patterns that professional bowlers encounter, what the average bowler makes, and even that there are some bowling games out there akin to Fifa, Madden, and NBA 2k23.

We also learn what it takes to compete in the big leagues, starting with regionals and how one might go about signing up to compete in one. Kyle shares with us, too, his views on why people should begin to look at bowling as a professional sport that takes more than just talent: it takes practice, preparation, knowledge, and precision to be able to compete and maintain your bowling skill.

One of the burning questions we had in our interview was related to the skill ceiling one encounters in bowling, and Kevin makes a fool of himself by assuming 300 is the standard for professional bowlers, but learns a lot when presented with all the information Kyle has on his experiences as someone working to be a professional bowler. Plus, just wait until you hear how many perfect 300s Kyle has bowled! Wow!

We were honored to interview Kyle, and we hope to see you next week on Sportscast, where we will be talking about the fervently popular new sport: Tic Tac Toe Jenga Tag!
